The Flower Diamond is one-of-a-kind due to the naturally occurring inclusions that can be found in the heart of the stone. In the center of the 3.02 carat diamond — originally 6.23 carats and re-cut to its current size — is a perfectly symmetrical, hydrogen cloud inclusion (a visible imperfection within a stone) in the shape of a stunning, six-petaled flower.

The exclusive stone was found by a miner in the jungles of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in the year 2000. Without the means to really study or re-cut the diamond, it remained rough at 6.23 carats until a gemologist, that was living in Brazil at the time, bought it. Knowing this was a special find, John Humbert of Sterling Promise Inc., purchased the diamond in hopes of showcasing the flower-shaped inclusion as a once-in-a-lifetime find.

THE BEST OF BOTH
WORLDS.

The pear-shaped, modified brilliant-cut diamond was graded by GIA as a Fancy brown-greenish yellow. Humbert says that the diamond “looks greenish”. The main stone was mounted in a gorgeous, platinum necklace with a total of 32 carats of diamonds.

You have to see this natural rarity within the Flower Diamond to truly believe it. With an inclusion like this, a buyer will walk away with a diamond similar to no other. Imagine the flower-shaped inclusion is like a snowflake, it is one-of-a-kind.

Flower and diamond lovers alike will take an interest in this marvel. The Flower Diamond is the best of both worlds; you no longer have to choose between two favorites.

The stone was studied extensively by Wuyi Wang and Wendi Mayerson of the GIA Gem Trade Laboratory, New York, Ne
w York.
